In Margo Wach's students get excited about science.
Margo Wach started out wanting to teach to help motivate more girls to go into the math and science professions.
Now, she's so excited about what she's doing in the classroom, she wants to get everyone excited about those fields.
On a recent morning in her class, the eighth graders are up and moving one moment.
Then, they're watching a quick video clip the next.
A few minutes later, the middle school students work with playdoh.
Margo Wach's kinetic style at St. John Neumann Regional Catholic School offers proof that science is energy.
"We never have a day we're we just sit at the desk, take notes and read a book," Wach said. "There's probably not a day that goes by that somebody doesn't stop in the hall and say, 'What are we going to do today's Mrs. Wach.'"
" My daughter is in Mrs. Wach's class," said Maryann Cote, a parent. "I nominated Mrs. Wach for (11Alive's Class Act Award) because she's extremely enthusiastic and very creative. The students absolutely love her class. They're eager to learn and really enjoy learning."
Wach worked for years in finance at a Fiber Optics company, but returned to school to become a teacher to help make a difference in the lives of young people.
Her days in a school building are much different from those in the corporate world.
"Life has changed completely," she said. "I took lunch breaks then and was able to make doctor's appointments..
As a teacher, " she said, "You're strapped her and you don't move until 3:00. You grade papers and after grading papers, you come home and come home with a new lesson plan. It just doesn't stop.
But, she wouldn't' have things any other way.
"I love it. I absolutely love it," she said.
