Enjoy a great night for a great cause at the 3rd Annual Casino Night & Silent Auction on Saturday, September 4th from 6:30pm to 9:30pm at "Aska Farms on Aska Road."  It will be an evening of great food, fun, games and music, plus silent and live auction items.  Advance tickets are $25 each, or $30 at the door, and all proceeds benefit Open Arms of Blue Ridge Emergency Assessment Shelter for the Children of Fannin County.  The vision for Open Arms of Blue Ridge is short term placement for abused and neglected children.

Hope Flies: Catch the Cure 9/3

 The newly formed, Atlanta-based Foundation for Mitochondrial Medicine will hold its inaugural fundraiser, Hope Flies: Catch the Cure, on Saturday, September 11 in the Terminus building in Buckhead. Hope Flies promises to be a fun-filled evening of culinary delights, cocktails and dancing, plus a live auction and raffle, and all proceeds benefit the Foundation and its mission to find treatments and a cure for Mitochondrial Disease, complex disorders that impair the body's ability to adequately produce energy. ConKerr Cancer "A Case for Smiles" is a charity that provides thousands of bright and cheerful pillowcases year round to children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. To honor the fact that September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month, ConKerr Cancer chapters around the world will be holding Miles of Pillowcase Smiles sewing events. Please join the Georgia Chapter on Saturday, September 11th at Roam in Alpharetta from 10am-4pm. Lunch will be provided.
