35th Annual Geranium Festival

This Saturday, May 19th, the McDonough Lions Club is sponsoring the 35th Annual Geranium Festival in downtown McDonough, Georgia.  The Geranium Festival is one of the best Arts & Crafts festivals in all of Georgia, featuring over 350 exhibitors and vendors from across the Southeast.  The Festival has free admission, free parking at Henry County High School, and a free shuttle to the festival area.  For more information, visit www.geraniumfestival.com.

Camp Twin Lakes

For 20 years, Camp Twin Lakes has provided life-changing camp experiences for children facing serious illnesses, disabilities and other life challenges.   To celebrate their 20th anniversary,  Camp Twin Lakes' Young Atlanta Leadership presents the 7th annual Camp Dance on Saturday, May 19 from 8pm to midnight at the Georgia Freight Depot.  Dance the night away to live music from The Ruckus and enjoy an evening of fun for a great cause: the kids of Camp Twin Lakes.  Tickets are $65 through May 18th and $75 at the door. Buddy Check

Buddy Check is our initiative here at the station to promote breast health. On the 11th of every month we remind our viewers to do their monthly breast self exams, to have an annual mammogram and to call their "Buddy" to remind them to do their self-exam too! Regular breast self-exams are such an important step for the early detection of breast cancer.  One in eighteen women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime.  Early detection is critical! So here is your reminder-do your self exam and call a buddy-a friend, relative or co-worker today to remind them too.

Hepatitis Testing Day Friday, May 18th

Memory Screening Day

It is estimated that as many as 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease, a number which is expected to triple over the next two decades.  On Friday, May 18th, the Emory University Alzheimer's Disease Research Center is offering free memory screenings through its Memory Screening program at the Wesley Woods Outpatient Clinic.  Memory Screenings are a significant first step toward finding out if a person may have a memory problem.  Early evaluation is important.  To schedule a confidential memory screening appointment, call    (404) 778-7777.
