NCAA Game Summary - Texas Tech at Iowa State

Ames, IA (Sports Network) - Royce White finished with 13 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists as the Iowa State Cyclones picked up a 72-54 victory over the Texas Tech Red Raiders in a Big 12 Conference bout at Hilton Coliseum.

Melvin Ejim and Scott Christopherson each scored 17 points for Iowa State (20-8, 10-5 Big 12) as it won its second straight contest. Chris Allen chipped in 12 points in the winning effort.

Jaye Crockett paced Texas Tech (8-19, 1-14) with 17 points and seven rebounds. Ty Nurse netted 15 points as the Red Raiders lost their third in a row.

Texas Tech took a 32-28 advantage into the intermission after it shot 56.5 percent from the field and knocked down 6-of-10 from beyond the arc in the first frame. The Cyclones struggled, as they made just 37 percent of their field goal attempts and only 4-of-8 from the charity stripe in the opening period.

Iowa State came out of the break on fire as it made 62.5 percent of its shots from the floor in the second half. The Red Raiders saw their lead evaporate as they managed to make only 34.8 percent of their field goals in the final 20 minutes.

The Cyclones outscored the visitors 32-16 in the paint and held a 35-25 advantage in the rebounding battle.
